Principle
The assay is based on the Glucose Oxidase–Peroxidase (GOD-POD) enzymatic method. Glucose is oxidized to D-gluconate with the production of hydrogen peroxide. In the presence of peroxidase, hydrogen peroxide reacts with phenol and 4-aminoantipyrine to form a red quinoneimine dye. The intensity of the color produced is directly proportional to the glucose concentration in the sample and is measured photometrically. (Linear)
