Test Principle

The RPR/VDRL test is based on a flocculation reaction between the test antigen and reagin antibodies present in a patient's specimen. A visible flocculation reaction may indicate a reactive result. Testing and result interpretation should always be performed according to the manufacturer's instructions and appropriate laboratory procedures.
