Test Principle

RPR/VDRL testing is based on a non-treponemal antigen–antibody reaction. When reagin antibodies are present in the patient's specimen, they react with the test antigen to produce visible flocculation. The reaction is interpreted according to the manufacturer's instructions and appropriate controls.
