Product Description
RPR Carbon with Controls & Slide – 100 Test is a non-treponemal serological test designed for the qualitative and semi-quantitative detection of reagin antibodies associated with Treponema pallidum infection. The RPR carbon antigen contains carbon particles coated with a lipid complex, allowing reactive samples to produce visible flocculation.

Kit Components
The 100-test RPR format can include the carbon antigen, reactive/positive and non-reactive/negative controls, dispensing accessories, test cards/slides, and mixing accessories.
Clinical Application
RPR testing is commonly used as a screening and monitoring test for syphilis. A reactive RPR result should be interpreted together with clinical findings and, when appropriate, confirmed with a treponemal-specific test.
Testing Principle
When reagin antibodies are present in the specimen, they react with the lipid antigen on the carbon particles, producing visible black flocculation or clumping. A uniform suspension without visible flocculation is interpreted as non-reactive.
Storage
Store the kit according to the manufacturer's instructions. RPR carbon reagents are commonly stored at 2–8°C. Allow reagents and samples to reach the required testing temperature before use and follow the supplied IFU.
